One hundred thousand dinars on a ten-dinar note: in 1993 the National Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina turned a note of the 1 July 1992 series into a money bond by adding the diagonal overprint «NOVČANI BON / 100 000 / STO HILJADA DINARA». The face value rose ten-thousand-fold while the paper stayed the same.
The overprint is dated 10 November 1993, the day after the Old Bridge in Mostar was destroyed, yet on the back of the bond the bridge remains intact: its image comes from the original ten-dinar note. Varieties are known with the signature of Stijepo Andrijić alone and with the signatures of Andrijić and Kasim Omičević.
The bond shows how wartime Bosnia managed without new money; next to the original ten-dinar note of 1992 it forms a telling pair: the note and its restamping. UNC condition means the note has never circulated: no folds, no wear, no soiling, even corners — just as it left the press.
